The County of Ventura Public Works Agency is proud to present this Flood Information website as a part of the National Flood Insurance Program’s Community Rating System (CRS) which is a voluntary incentive program that has three main goals:

1. Reduce and avoid flood damage to insurable property
2. Strengthen and support the insurance aspects of the National Flood Insurance Program
3. Foster comprehensive floodplain management

This site provides regionally appropriate resources so Ventura County residents can be better informed and better prepared for flood events. For example, a homeowner can learn about property flood risk using the latest FEMA flood insurance rate maps, how to obtain flood insurance, and whether a floodplain development permit is required for their project.
